Corrosion in plumbing caused water damage in Omaha

On the second floor master bathroom of this home there was some corrosion on a pipe under the vanity leading to the sink. The pipe finally gave way causing it to burst. It is unknown how long the water had been running, but it caused extensive damage to the master bedroom, bathroom and flowed down stairs affecting the HVAC room, kitchen, and even the garage. In the photos above you can see in the garage area where the water had soaked the insulation in the ceiling. With the insulation that saturated we had to poke weep holes into the drywall ceiling to release some built up water. This allows the technicians to safely remove the sagging drywall without it just come crashing down due to the weight of the water and wet insulation. After the water has been released the technicians were able to remove the area of affected drywall, and place our state of the art air movers to aid in drying the sub-floor above and dry out that cavity in the drywall that had been affected. The timely mitigation work saves this family from seeing any potential mold growth as well.
